To celebrate the spookiest time of year, we held Hauntober! A contest where the members of the Hauntii Discord created their own ghost designs to fit into the Hauntii world. We’re so pleased to see all the creativity that everyone shared! You can see the submissions below.

Say Hello to Teo/Inanelis! A curious young ghost seeking the meaning of friendship. While he knows only kindness in his heart, he is a sensitive, skittish little thing that easily suffers from guilty conscience and does harmful things out of corrupted intentions. Loves exploring and appreciating the environment no matter how grim, and has a close relationship to music and rhymes; he has a penchant for rhyming and making up poems on the spot. This attempt at elegance however, is often betrayed by his clumsiness in both manners and motor skills.
Jostled into the depths of Eternity from grim origins as a newborn ghost, he unknowingly contains massive amounts of corruption and with it, unspeakable powers within. Perhaps to the point of... even being a contagious source of it

“The story is that he lives in the online world isolating himself and he feels lost in trying to hang out with the right people.
Gameplay: You would have to find and destroy all the internet routers, unlocking his door to his computer room. Then he would finally step out of his desk. He now feels like that he doesn't have any purpose in life and his body becomes into a monster with more violent actions.”

“For an NPC, i was thinking of an old granny, something of an old sage. Maybe "the first of all spirits" that lingers in there. she would give advices to Hauntii about sidequest, or the next step on their journey. Alternatively she could just gossip about everyone else in town xD, but everyone loves her because of her pies. (I’m unclear if ghost can cook on this universe, but that could be a funny gag if she pulled pies outta nowhere xD)”

“My second idea is more of an enemy. "Lanterns of the dead" they are lanterns send with blessings and prayers to their lost ones that never arrived their destination. So they slowly corrupted into twisted nightmares trying to share their "blessings" with unfortunate souls that encounter them.”

“The ghost is just a brick wall, a literal huge brick wall that would block Hauntii's path. Except this wall talks, has a top hat and used to be a comedian. He used to practice all his joke to a wall, until a cruel fate brought the wall down onto him and killed him. Now he randomly moves around the map being a nuisance to everyone by blocking their paths. Which can be cleared after completing certain conditions or sitting trough 500 bad puns, around 1000 text boxes of unskipabble or speeding text xD”

Who or what is Foro? No one really knows. Rumors state that Foro--the name possibly deriving from the error message 404--was previously a creator who lost their way in a previous life. Others state that it is a creature that is as old as time itself. Yet other say it is a fallen necromancer angry of being robbed of life. No one really knows who or what this ghost is like, which adds on to the fear of it. There are only three known reliable sources of information about Foro that exists currently, and even then they are questionable sources.
1: A floppy disk was found with the name "Foro" written on it. When inspected, all that was on the disk was the message "I watch from the shadows. I bring abominations to life. I corrupt the existing. This is the will of Foro."
2: Strange creatures that crudely mimic fictional beings sometimes are found. These creatures are limited in vocabulary, but often repeat the phrase "Foro gives, Foro takes, Foro destroys, Foro makes."
3: The attached sketch, which was drawn by someone who had the only known encounter with Foro. Whether Foro is a threat, a guardian, or something else remains to be seen. For now however, they remain an urban legend of nightmares.”

{Verdego Ghost Logs 2: Treble}
“No, her name isn't "trouble", but "treble" (like the music clef). However, you wouldn't be far from the truth. Treble is a loud and proud musical ghost, ready and willing to make any music for other ghosts. Sounds innocent, right? Well, it's when there isn't anyone to make music for that the trouble starts.
Treble thrives on loud sounds and chaos. Without anyone to share the chaos and rhythm with, she starts causing trouble to get people to pay attention to her. As you might suspect, the trouble she starts is loud and explosive.
Her mouth reacts to how loud she is speaking, with blue being quiet and red being L O U D. The bottom of her body acts as a audio visualizer, reacting to the surrounding sounds. She can summon up to two hands that she can use to create sick beats (or cause big kabooms.) She has a very extroverted nature, combined with 80's retro ascetic spunk She always has her headphones with her, multicolored and able to tune out loud sounds.
1. The audio visualizer shroud could shape into peaks and lows depending on Treble's mood and degree of emotion. E.g. Anger, Joy, Shock, Sorrow; shouting: Peaks. Sad, grouchy, mellow, bored; whispering/muttering: Lows. Euphoria, Embarrassment, Numbness: Flatline.
2. The shape of Treble's body or perhaps a feature such as their eyes could in a similar fashion change shape into different musical notes depending on mood. Especially if/when corrupted, Treble could change form into a beastly quadrupedal mess in the shape of beaming (semi)quavers ( , accessorised with tied notes etc.
3. As for abilities, magics attacks etc. My main idea for him would be to inflict Synesthesia in both positive and negative regards.”

“A big muscle ghost pub owner named Earl with a mustache that is warm, jolly, and father-like to everyone and gives advice to the player. He has tiny wife Minnie that helps him run the pub. Maybe he use to be trying to get to the end of the game like the player but then found his wife and they decided to stay there together forever. Maybe he helps the player in a scripted loss and come in with SUPER big orb attacks and is like “WHEW, that really takes it out of me, haven’t had to do that in a while” because idk if it’s been explained or flushed out yet but I imagine the ghosts are using their “essence” / life force to fight”

“His feet take up half the screen. Has to bend down all the way to talk to the player. Maybe can be involved in a fetch quest where you need to pick up extra “BOOlts” to repair his arms so he can lift an obstacle for you. Or there could be a segment of the game that’s super dark like an “ocean” and he can carry you through it and his eyes light up like a lighthouse and he escorts you.”

A biker gang called the descendants that thinks getting to the end of the game is a hoax or a trap so they bully people into agreeing with their views.
